How is Vaser Lipo Performed?

Vaser Lipo by Dr. Michael Kerin begins with the application of a local anesthetic to the treatment area, followed by the delivery of custom ultrasound energy to melt and liquefy targeted fat cells. Once liquified, the fat cells are gently suctioned out through a small cannula. The procedure time varies based on the number of areas being treated and can take as little as an hour or may require several hours.

After Vaser Lipo, patients are required to wear a special compression garment to aid in skin contraction and adjust to their newly sculpted body contours.

Who is a Good Candidate for Vaser Lipo?

Ideal candidates for Vaser Lipo are over 18 years of age, non-smokers, and in good general health. Both men and women within 30 percent of their ideal body weight who are bothered by excess fat that does not respond to diet or exercise are suitable candidates. Additionally, candidates should have reasonably good skin tone and realistic expectations for advanced body contouring.
